Eighties film star ANDREW MCCARTHY is terrified his new play about parenthood will be a flop when it debuts in New York on Monday (21Apr08). The Pretty in Pink star wrote and appears in a segment in Vagina Monologues-inspired play Afterbirth, in which he recounts anecdotes about his experiences with his own six-year-old son Sam. But MCCarthy fears it'll only be funny for him, telling the New York Post, "It felt good to write, but I'm preparing for tomatoes to be thrown."
That is really cool that Andrew wrote a play abut parenthood. That is a great subject I am sure many people will like it. We can laugh for hours on the funny things kids do no matter what their age is. Parenting is great but it can really do a number on you. I hope Andrew has great success with that project.
Andrew will be making two more live appearances in NYC this week as part of the "Afterbirth..." program. He will be reading his original story which will also appear in the "Afterbirth..." book to be published by St. Martin's Press this May.
