FOR all the women with post-Sex and the City depression, help is at hand. Another New York-based drama from Candace Bushnell, the creator of the hugely popular Sex and the City series, will hit TV this month.
Lipstick Jungle is tipped to fill the void experienced by the many women mourning the fact they've now seen the eagerly-awaited Sex and the City movie, which had its premiere in Australia on Thursday.
Bushnell's new series is about three high-powered career women and, like Sex, promises an abundance of designer clothes, female banter and handsome men.
The lead characters are a movie studio president (played by Brooke Shields), a magazine editor and a fashion designer. Lipstick even has its own Big in the form of '80s Bratpacker Andrew McCarthy, who makes a comeback as the billionaire boyfriend of one of the leading ladies.
Early glimpses of the Channel 7 show reveal that itwill be just as racy as Sex and The City.
The signs are also good that unlike Cashmere Mafia, which failed to ignite viewer interest this year, Lipstick Jungle will prove popular with its target female audience.
It is doing so well in the US that a second series has been commissioned.
