I have to agree with Mary. Andrew is even more sexy today. He definitly aged well. And he still has those beautyful blue eyes and his wonderful charming smile.
i do appreciate the way you analyze this certain topic. But now, it is time for me to rebut. The answer which you are seeking is simple. Andrew McCarthy...I HATE YOUR FACE! Just telling you how much I hate your face makes me feel good. Ciao.
Okay now I am going to give my honest opinion. And I know someone isn't going to like it. I think kevin has a small case of jealousy giong on. Is Kevin your real name? Think about it? If you really hate someone or hated their face would you spend time in pages dedicated to them. I sure wouldn't waste my time. And the only regrests I have about speaking the truth is that people who are like this will go ahead and create some new stupid topic just to get everyones attention. So there I said it. Okay now who is ready to blast me with hate mail.
Mary, II agree with your view re Kevin and his ilk. And my opinion of Andrew's looks: GREAT. He is aging well AND very young looking for his age! And he is charismatic and exceptionally talented. He is able to show emotions better than any of the so-called hunks I have seen in the last few years. My criticism -- we don't get to see him often enough and he certainly is talented enough to play just about any kind of role there is!
I realize that this topic is now a year old, but I felt an urge to respond to it. I absolutley agree with you about a person who claims to "hate someones face" yet spends time on a web site dedcated to them. I mean is there a name for what's wrong with someone who does a thing like that. I'm not sure that "green with envey" quite covers it. I mean the only kind of sence it makes to do a thing like that is NONSENCE!
I think that as CUTE as Drew was back in the day, and believe me I thought he was cuuuute. I think he looks better now. Where he was a "cutie boy" before, he is a handsome man now, and what's all this conversation about his weight? Where does anyone see skinny? He looks totally trim and fit to me. I am 5' 31/2" and 110lbs. My whole life I have had people commenting on my weight, "what's a matter don't you eat enough"? Some of us are just built this way, (not that I think that there is thing one wrong with the way Drew is built, I think he looks wonderful). Instead of having trouble loosing weight, we have trouble gaining it, and trust me it's not the picnic some people think it is. I'm sure the man eats pleanty. Regardless of when you prefered his appearance, in the 80's or now, Let's all just enjoy him. he is a fabulous actor, and a great looking guy. I mean, what's not to love. Teri
I agree with Mary and Teri. I've had a crush on Andrew since 1985 and I'm 42 now. I did lose track of him for a while and when I saw Pretty in Pink on cable channel last month, I started thinking what does he look like now so I got on the internet and found Mary's website and since then I'm been trying to catch up. Thanks Mary and I appreciate your album of Andrew.
I find this a pointless discussion. I think andrew looks gorgeous, and always have.
But there will be people who think he looks bad, because the world works that way. The point is, it's a difference of opinion and no point arguing.
Andrew doesn't need us to defend him. He's getting work and seems happy. We know he is gorgeous. The more we argue back, the more the naysayers point is expressed.

This same attitude was expressed in another post. Is anyone better than the next person? I think not. None of us are perfect. Sheesh! Again...I defend my opinion...and that is that Andrew McCarthy is even more handsome/talented now than he was when I first saw him in "Pretty in Pink." He's a winner in both older and more recent works! I thought he was gorgeous even at his heaviest...episode of "Goosebumps." I feel anything less than positive about Andy is not popular here. There are a lot of ways to spend free time if you're not happy with one thing...try something else. Just a little friendly advice.
I know, I would like to meet him too or just see him in person. I said a while ago that my husband resembles him. I have different background pictures of Andrew on my computer and my husband tells me that for some reason he should feel jealous, but he's not. Even my sons think their dad kind of looks like Andrew. It's funny how my boys think I'm crazy that at my age, their mom acts like a teenager when it comes to Andrew. Can't help it. I've had a crush on our Andrew since way before I met my husband.
You're not alone. I'm married with children too, and I get teased by my family all the time over my crushes over Andrew, Ralph, and Keanu. Somehow...they still support my habit...telling me when something's on t.v., if they see it advertised somewhere, read an article, buy me related gifts, etc. When Pat Morita died, my son's girlfriend had him call to check on me. Can you believe that??? That's support. I was okay...but it's true, it affected many Karate Kid fans. I'm the same age as Ralph and a year older than Andrew. As Tina Turner used to say...What's Age Got to Do With It?? Ahem...sort of...(Had to throw a semi-pun in there from "Pretty In Pink"...Ha!). So you see...our families just love us (smile)!
I knwo the feeling girls. My family may tease me aobut Andrew but they do buy me all his films and stuff. I too felt bad when Pat Marita died. My son is really into Karate and I am sure I have watched the Karate kid at least 100 times. ha
It's good to see I'm not alone. My husband also teases me for acting like a teenager when it comes to Andrew. I also just can't help it. The man is timeless, and so is my crush on him, 21yrs. now. I was 24yrs old when St Elmo's Fire came out, and I am 2 1/2yrs older than Andrew. I also like Keanu Reeves, Gary Oldman & Jude Law, but Andrew is definetely number ONE!!!!!!
