Degrassi" Actor Evan Williams Is To Star In The Hallmark Channel Original Movie "The National Tree"

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - The Canadian born actor is set to star alongside former Brat Packer Andrew McCarthy in the movie "The National Tree" that will premiere over Thanksgiving weekend. Williams had this to say about meeting the iconic star McCarthy: "This man is a legend. And here I got to work opposite him. He has this laconic look. He widens his eyes when he looks at you with this 'What planet are you from?' kind of gaze. He gave me that look the first day I was on the set. It was just amazing. I was in awe."

In the original movie Williams plays an Oregon teen called Rock Burdock, who win a national Christmas tree contest and convinces his father, who is playing by McCarthy, to move the tree to Washington DC. This soon turns in to a cross country father-son road trip that encounters adventure and bonding.
