Actor Andrew McCarthy makes his directorial debut with this adaptation
of a short story by famed Irish writer Frank O'Connor. Nora-Jane Noone
(The Magdalene Sisters) stars as a woman who confesses her recent
one-night-stand to a priest (Jarlath Conroy). Winner of the Best Short
Film Grand Prize at the Rhode Island International Film Festival,
qualifying 'News for the Church' as an Official Entry with the Academy Awards
for Best Live Action Short Film.
