So, hopefully that means that you and Mikako (and his other admirers) will get a chance to meet him!
I will say, I certainly hope he shares some of his wedding pictures!
Thanks, Sandy. I still cannot believe that he suddenly started to tweet! He already has more than 800 followers. Are you one of them? Do you tweet yourself? I haven't signed Twitter yet.
I don't tweet either--I don't think my life is interesting enough to do so! I have an account, but I honestly don't know how to use it. We have made it a rule in our house to not have social networking accounts. My son has social skills delays, so we have to model behavior for him 24/7.
I will follow, though, if only to get the chance to meet Andrew again at a book signing. Maybe we need to recruit someone to tweet him about wedding photos...or perhaps one of us will still be invited?!!?
OK, full disclosure. I just tweeted--or is it Twittered--to the University of Notre Dame's women's soccer team (I went there, so I'm a big fan) and they wrote me back thanking me for my support!
OTOH, I don't think Mr. McCarthy would be so inclined to write be back. The only thing Irish about me is where I went to school (Notre Dame Fightin' Irish).
Hi.I still cannot believe that Andrew tweets quite often. He tweeted one hour ago!I would like to know the reason why he started to tweet very suddnely. He has more than 900 followers. Amazing!
Mikako, I was wondering the same thing. My only thought is that, perhaps, the publisher of his book thought it would be a good way to keep people interested in him and then curious about the book when it comes out next year.
He does tweets quite often! Andrew was a very elusive (private) person, but he is different completely. I'd better ask him why he stated tweeting. Is his idea? or Someone else's idea? Is this "Money Matters" kind a reason? I must be getting old because I dout anything nowadays
Andrew tweeted while I am in my sleep! Now he has more than 1,000 followers. I am condiereing to be his follower. I just don't come up with the right user's name. I think he might it be fun.
I tweeted Andrew and he tweeted me back. Have to admit that I was rather shocked at how quickly he wrote back. What a nice guy....but we already knew that.
Thanks guys for all your updates with Andrew on Twitter. I am giong to join but am also a Twitter eliterate. I am on Facebook but not by choice. My husband set me up. But I have to admit I do enjoy it. Well see you guys over on Twitter when I figure it out.
After a crash course on using Twitter, given to me by a 9 year old, I did tweet about 6 times to various places...and to Andrew (he answered!!!). He must think I'm the biggest goofball on the face of the earth.
I'm a follower, but I wouldn't be caught dead tweeting about myself.
I just tweeted to him that we want to see wedding pictures.
Hi Sandy, You are not alone to struggle to use "Twiter." I could read instructions in Japanese, but Idecided to stick with you guys in English. However, it isn't easy. I did change an icon pic last Sunday. I hope you find me. Andrew is heading to Dublin , it takes 7 to 8 hrs.,so he must be in the plane now. Safe trip, Andrew.
Mikako,
I thought I spotted you on there. Can you guess who I am? If Andrew ever connects my Twitter name to this board, he'll never answer me again (not that I think he would a second time, but there's always wishful thinking).
Just curious, when did you become a fan of Andrew's? Is it easy to see American movies in Japan?
You know I'm a travel idiot when I have to ask my son where Patagonia is--and of course he knew from playing with his SmartGlobe. Third graders think they know everything!
Sandy, I became his fan since I saw the movie named "Class," so you can figure out how long I have been his fan! I never switched someone else. I was creasy eought to see "St.Elmo's Fire" 30 times at the movie threater. It's easy to see American movies at the movie theater, however I prefer to stay home and watch movies. I wish I could see his movie on the big screen again.
Now he's in dublin again.... wonder if he'll stop in London on the way back and tweet to let us know.. he's tweeting what restaurants and pubs he's in.
Agreed. It's like he's no longer a hidden treasure waiting to be found. Now, the important question is...will you try to meet him if he tweets from London?
