I think that it might be. I looked at the Wall activity, which shows recent posts, and found some references to travel. Also, a few of the friends listed are associated with the travel industry and a couple of friends listed are celebrities.
Goodness, I hope not. Well, you guys keep me posted. Not even for AM would I use facebook. I hope he's not selling out. Sorry but I really dislike facebook!!!
I'm guessing that we won't see Andrew updating much, if anything, on Facebook, gievn his comment about how FB scares him. In the past few months Facebook has made some changes with privacy settings, making it kind of complicated for users and friends.
To me it's too much trouble to figure out how to get my settings appropriately private, so it's easier to just not post things there...one of these days I may just get around to deactivating my FB account!
Problem is you can't remve anything really that you post on FB. My friend set me one up some years back and I was not happy about that. Took me a while to remove it, to only find out it is never permanently gone. You can just log back in years later and there it is, reactivated for another 3 months.
Plus even after it's supposedly gone, sometimes people still can find you. It's terrible.
And Facebook announced last week that they will be a publicly traded company on the stock market. So, stockholders will be looking for a return on their investment...which means...probably even less privacy due to advertisers trying to target your Facebook habits.
I hate FB. Really do. My friend put my mobile number on it- it was in the join up questions, apparently it really pushed for a phone number - and that and my email address were displayed openly on the facebook page- apparently that's automatic that all your contact details, even tel number are shown unless you remove them from the site or realy fiddle with privacy settings, which takes a lot of work. To which it goes back telling you you must add the phone number for security reasons.
The other thing I hate is that I do not want my photo on the internet.
So I feel like avoiding certain social functions, for my work for example - everyone I work with is on FB and everytime there is a photo taken, it just goes on FB. So I now am worried whenever I see a camera flashing - it's literally destroyed any right to be a private citizen. Seriously.
