HOT GALLERY: Mannequin Turns 25! Where Is the Cast Now?

Mannequin is the kind of movie you could get away with in 1987. It was a romantic comedy in which the romance was between a straight male department store window designer and, well, a mannequin. It is not ironic. It is sweet, silly, and not meant to be taken too seriously. Like we said, très '80s. Let's look back on this goofy and glorious gift from that deliciously daffy decade and see what the cast of Mannequin has been up to.By Brett Singer on February 9, 2012

McCarthy plays Brian in The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best (try saying that 10 times fast), a new film that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and will be in theaters soon. His travel memoir, The Longest Way Home: One Mans Quest for the Courage to Settle Down, will be published by Simon & Schuster later this year. No wonder hes smiling. Life is good.

Thanks for sharing the article. 25 years? It seems yesterday I saw the movie. Anyhow, Andrew is the BEST.

I just tweeted that as we were walking through Philly airport, we spotted a poster for Mannequin because it was filmed in Philly. Andrew, of course, looked awesome on the poster! Hubby wouldn't help me steal it.

So did you get it? I would have made enquiries and had my name put down for it when they take it down.

Or just ripped it down and run for it.

The movie poster was a part of a series of movie posters of films made in Phila...like Rocky, Taps, Sixth Sense to name a few. Hubby spotted it right away. Of course, I had to go back and eye it up...and looking over my shoulder, there was some security eyeing me. Trust me, I would have made off with it if I could!

Maybe we should just come up with a diversionary tactic?

OK, I thought of a tactic...my son could have a meltdown. When I proposed this to son, he frowned and said, "Mom, you're crazy!". So, I guess I have to settle on taking a picture of it instead. What a letdown!!

Sandy,

That's so funny and true to life.

This story would have a different ending if another .netter joined you at the Philly airport.  Some great news headlines and Tweets could come out of that, right?

Absolutely...complete with mentioning the 25th anniversary of the movie and Andrew's recent appearance at the Philly Travel Show. I can see it now, "Andrew McCarthy wows fans at the Philly Travel Show...inspires fans to steal his poster from Philly International's Terminal A". I seriously want to become a roadie once his book is released!

That headline would be great press for Andrew, I think.  If this ever comes to pass we'll have to videotape the incident, too.  My son would never believe it otherwise.

I'm convinced that Andrew already thinks I am a nutcase, so I can see him reading the headline and thinking, "The infamous Sandy". Good gosh, I sometimes wonder what I was thinking...the brink of insanity?

I must be on the brink, too.  Earlier tonight I made my son watch "The National Tree"...it's not even Christmas season!  At least none of us have fallen into the abyss!

You know what? I think  this movie "Mannequin" was never released  at the movie theaters in Japan , straight to video tape or DVD. Luckly I saw this movie at the movie theater with American audience!
