Why does everyone think he is so private? He has spoken in interviews about begin an alcoholic in detail, and about his relationship with his wife, his feelings about his son, and has written personal stories about his travels. This doesnt strike me as being such a private person.
You make a very good point. I think when people use the word "private" what they're expressing is that Andrew's private life isn't in the spotlight like some other celebrities. He chooses his forum and thoughtfully shares himself. While I would guess he is a reserved guy-I agree with you, he has been forthcoming.
Yes not in the spotlight at all :( I think that is partly because he isn't so popular any more and partly because he lives in NY. The media are fickle once a star in no longer in the big movies they move on...Anyway I'm not sure Andrew has made a concerted effort to keep his life very private. Ive never heard him talking about that, but then maybe Ive missed something.
Eh, he was a tad on the 'private' side when he was a younger man...I think kicking the booze, growing up a bit and having priorities like a son have made him a bit more approachable too (in addition to all of your very astute observations)
That reminded me of few interviews from early in his career, and he appears shy and cautious about his responses. Maybe that is where the whole "private" thing came up. Life has a way of kicking your butt and making you humble.
He said in an interview for the short he directed- "It confronts our fundamental need to connect with another human being and share who we are, to tell our story, to be heard." Since I read that, I think of it often. I beleive it's true and well said by someone who as you said, has grown.
My deffinition of private is the same as Ty's. Some celebrities use the gossip to keep their career's going. In my opinion Andrew doesn't need a gimmick. Speaking of gimmicks what's up with the young blonde using her get out of jail free card? ha By the way Snery thanks for signing the guestbook and welcome to the board.
Paris is an example of how not to raise your children. This must be her first visit here on earth...lol. She hasn't got much out of her journey here. I really commend the Judge in this case. I just can't believe that the MEDIA perpetuates this SAGA instead of focusing on real issues.
Mary: You're very welcome (re: guest book signing)...it's the least I could do for such a devoted fan. I'm sure Andrew appreciates you deeply. You've been around for him for a long time.
And the judge prevails. I just hope I raised my kids good since my daughter is a theater major I would hate to think this is what we have to look forward to. lol At least I know my daughter has a little more ccommen sense. I was thinking abut that comment on people have a story to tell. I was sitting around the table last night with friends who were telling their stories. Some of them were so bad that all we could do is laugh and laugh. Then I got to thinking more if we didn't tell our stories we would all probably go insane. That was a really deep thought. You can deffinately with Adnrew's interveiws in later years how he has really evolved.
That's the journey. I think you can tell by talking with someone what their life experience has been. People who have life experience listen, are empathetic and honest, and if you show a genuine interest they will let you in and tell their stories.
I wish Andrew would update his letter on his web page.
