Hi everybody====this is just an alert:

Pretty In Pink on the AMC channel on cable tonight (Friday 9/14)==twice; 8:00 PM and again at 3:30 AM. If you are like me you already have the DVD and I also have the 20th Anniversary DVD, but it is always hard to resist watching it on TV. I do that with all of them.
                  Of course
I'm assuming you give a darn. None of you are posting much-ha:
By the way-saw James Slater in something the other night. Another handsome hunk who is a fine actor. It made me wonder why we don't have appreciation pages and write love letters to him??? He just is no Andrew, right?aww.gifsmile.gifwink.gif

Speaking of James Spader, isn't he up for another Emmy?  BRAVO!  Now, perhaps we can see Andrew on a few epsidoes of "Boston Legal"....how 'bout it, Jimmy?

As for James, he's got a lovely fansite already established.  Google his name, and you should find it.  But, you are right...no matter what, he's just no Andrew McCarthy smile

Okay while flipping channels tonight  did see Pretty in Pink on. It was towards the end and I decided not to put my husband torugh that again. That tells you how much they play it on the TV.

James Spader is a wonderful actor. I am not surprised he is up for another Emmy. I am a huge Boston Leagle fan and would love to see Adnrew on there.  If you  find Jimmy for me I'll beat down his door and make sure Adrew gets a few episodes on there. As much as I love Jimmy you are both right he is no Andrew.

"Pretty In Pink" is pretty common fare on tv anymore (which is great).  They were showing it every other day on VH1.  Now at least, they're featuring it on 'American Movie Classics' - where a film like "Pretty In Pink" should be shown!  After all, it IS an American movie classic.

I set the ol' tv up every week for any Andrew films that might be making an appearance.  I have a good amount on video anyway, but what the heck, never hurts (I also do the same with Gillian Anderson, but that's another story entirely devilish.gif )

Now, if I could get Andrew McCarthy, my favorite actor, to do a film with Gillian, I could die a happy Snerfy nod.gif

Yey Snerfy-we see you blushing. Your big crush on Gillian Anderson is quite obvious. Can't blame you - she is lovely and I love her romantic videos. You mentioned that she is another story--would you share it?
We won't tell. Honestwink.gif

I just leant my copy of pretty in pink to one of my friends... I kind of feel a bit lost without it, but there are still some people in this world who haven't watched it and they need to be schooled in the brat pack culture.

Can I just ask though, what was up with Molly Ringwalds dress. I mean, I know it was the eighties but come on?! Peachy pink with flame red hair. Not a good look for any teenage girl.

I live in the Uk and we never get films like Pretty in Pink shown on TV. The closest we get to brat pack is when film four decide to show "the grifters" or "Ferris Buellers day off".

I watched Pretty in Pink earlier before I leant it out.
"You told me you couldn't believe in somebody who didn't believe in you. I believed in you. I always believed in you. I just didn't believe in me. I love you. Always."

Damn it, still makes me melt. I know it's just good scripting, but well, if Andrew/Blane said that to you, you'd melt for sure, even though it's probably one of the most cheesy lines in film history.
