Theatre projects? Anyone?

Hi, I'm knew to this board, really just stumbled accross this little haven today.

I've been an Andrew fan for a while now. At first I was more of a Judd lover, but Pretty in Pink sold it for me... Anyways.

So I've seen a few of Andrews movies but I would really love to see him performing on the stage. I am currently living in the UK but am taking a trip to NYC in a month or so to visit friends. I was wondering if anybody here knew if Andrew was still doing off Broadway productions or whether he is currently resting?

Just curious is all. I'm treating myself to a theatre trip whilst in NYC and it's either an Andrew production or A Chorus Line.

Hello, Rachel!

Welcome to the board!  Always great to hear from other McCarthy fans!  Ahh, "Pretty In Pink" has hooked a great many, it seems...lured you away from the Judd camp, eh?

I am Snerfy, likely the only male (and apparently the resident weirdo biggrin) on the board.

If you (or any other andrew fan) need anything, I am at your service, madam!

He of the many Screen Caps,
Snerfy

Lol Snerfy, I'm sure you're not that strange.

I'm sort of still a little in the Judd camp as it were, although he doesn't seem to have aged as well as Andrew did.

I had a look at some pictures of the other brat packers recently. I think it's probably Emilio Estevez and Judd that have aged the worst. I have a theory that Mr Hughes was injecting the Brat pack kids with formeldaheid when they were on set and nobody let us know.

Even though I say I was in the Judd camp I really only liked him as John Bender in the Breakfast club. By the time I got round to watching St Elmo's fire I decided that I didn't like him anymore and I would much rather have been Andrew McCarthy's girlfriend than Judd Nelson's.

Teenagers, we were such a fickle bunch.

    Hi Rachel:
Welcome smile.gif, I wish I could tell you I knew of a film Andrew was doing in the next month. I have been waiting  for a year and a half yawn.gif for him to star in a play. I missed seeing him at the McCarter theatre in Princeton by one monthcry.gif. I discovered Mary's wonderful site a month after he was there. I also wish you luck, it would be lucky for me to. I live 25 miles from N.Y.
Snerfy, I didn't know you where our resident gentleman, you don't sound strange to me either. It's nice to have you, thank you for your offer of assistance to all of us Andrew fans. I love Pretty in Pink. I think St. Elmo's Fire is my favorite. It's the first movie I ever saw him in, when I was 25.

Aww, thanks...nice to be accepted by such a fantastic group of ladies nod.gif

I doubt Andrew would ever come to my neck of the woods, although we do have a great many theatre-related things happening about town on occasion.

Perhaps I should move to Noo Yawk! idea.gif

Teri,
Me too.
The first time I saw him was in the St. Elmos fire and was love at first sight. And I was 25 too.
Especially when he was with Ally Sheed and his eyes were electrifier, when he had declared to her.
Since this time he is my favorite actor. And I love this movie. And the soundtrack is wonderful.
I really dont know why I like him,
There arent any other actors or actress that I like how I like him.
Maybe Freud has an explanation.

    Hi Alice:
That is my favorite scene also. His eyes do light up just like you described. You are also right that there is no other actor like him. He has kept my interest like no one else. And to think I grew up one town away from him, but never met him hmm.gif ! He's from Westfield, I'm from Cranford.

I dont know what the distance between Westfield and Cranford is, but I live in Brazil and I Wonder. If I lived in New York, or better in Manhattan, I will try to find him.
I just ask him about an autograph and take a picture.
Maybe, in the next play in that he will be working, in Broadway, for example, I will go to New York to see him.
I love New York and it will be a good reason to visit this city again.

     Hi Alice:
The distance from Cranford to Westfield is only one mile. When he does his next play in N.Y. It would be great to get a whole group of us together. The more the merrier smile.gif !!

Hi Teri-missed you- Glad to have you back.
That scene you mentioned from St. Elmo's is one of my favorites also. I have three photos on my desk. Two are from that scene where Andrew is about 22 or 23 years old and looks 16 or 17 with those eyes lit up. The other one is a lovely photo of Andrew today (taken last May) and he has not changed a bit. The only difference is thos few laugh-lines on his left cheek. It's simply amazing. He still has a ton of hair and in this one has it fairly under control. It is from a bunch of photos I have which are fixed so they cannot be forwarded or reproduced. I just wish they were larger and that I could share them with you.  Also wish I lived as close as you do to NYC.
Snerfy is a very interesting addition to our group. Hope he sticks around. He really keeps up to date on Andrew.  Keep in touch Teriaww.gif

Teri,
Thats really very close.
Who knows, maybe youve been next to him sometime, but you didnt realize it.
And thats a good idea.  The Andrews multicultural group.  The girls from Japan, England, Brazil and other countries.
We are going to enjoy yourselves in N.Y, on his next play.

I am planning a spring trip to New York, so please if any one hears of a play he may be in please let us all know.

I miss posting on here, hasn't been much to talk about. I'm guessing Andrew still hasn't updated his site. I'm feeling some serious fan neglect.

I hope our friend with pnemonia is doing well.

Miss ya Snerfy! U R not weird, just delightful, somehow your lines always a chuckle out of me, sorely needed.
