Another question for my fellow fans...just curious to know who your other favorite actors are? How does Andrew rank overall among your top favorite actors of all time?
For me, Andrew ranks No. 2. It's a close one! My favorite actor of all time is Fred Astaire. No.'s 3-5 are James Stewart, Gregory Peck and Spencer Tracy. Kind of eclectic! Especially that Andrew is the only modern (and alive) actor in the mix. For someone to be one of my favorites , he has to be someone I feel I would like if I met them in real life. I know that's impossible to know unless you meet them, and I haven't met any of these actors, but it's just a feeling!! :)
I've always been a great fan of Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, Montgomery Clift, Bogart, Bacall, Irene Dunne, Rosalind Russell (to name but a few of the 'older' stars I enjoy.
Of the current crop of actors working today, I must say that, along with Andrew McCarthy, I enjoy:
Anthony Hopkins, Robert Downey Jr, Johnny Depp, Reese Witherspoon, Holly Hunter, Joaquin Phoenix, Jessica Alba, Emma Thompson, Jodie Foster, Helen Nirren, Sean Penn, Gillian Anderson (my crush) & even Leo DiCaprio.
If we are going to start with the old timers I would say Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart and Fay Dunaway.
As for today's actors. That is really a tough question because my taste changes as the actors changte themselves in their film choices.
Origionally I was going to say of course Andrew is my favortie and my second favortie is Keanu Reeves. I like his film choices. And in that age group I also like John Cusack, James Spader and of course one of my all time favorites Robert Downey Jr. But lately I do not like his film choices.
Now for the more mature actors Robert Deniro or Al Pachino would have been my first choice, but then Snerfy brought up a name that reminded me how my taste is changing do to the actors film chhoices. You can add Anthony Hopkins to my list. Just last week I rented his film Fractured and it was so good I watched it at least twice and would have watched it a few more times if my husband wouldn't havve returned it.
I also love many of the old ones, so let me start there. Tyrone Power, was my first favorite. Also Jimmy Stewart, Spencer Tracey, Bing Crosby & Bob Hope. For my more modern choices, Andrew Is #1, has been since 1985 ! In #2 is Keanu Reeves. After that I have to say my friends all kid me, because I have about 21 names in my top 10. The most recent addition is Alex O'Loughlin from Moonlight !
