Snerfy, you will be pleased to kknow that I have a little campaign going for a bunch of signatures. Sometimes a big family can come in handy. :) I agree Lipstick Jungle is a well gifted show with several gifted actors.
Personal jibes about me surely aren't necessary. I'm an idiot cos i disagree?? How old are the people on these postings?? I am entitled to my opinion and surely any self respecting Andrew McCarthy fan would want "idiots" like you off this site. Get a grip!! Andrew has been in far better programmes than Lipstick Jungle and the sooner he's out of it the better
Okay guys, I have decided to stay calm and not get hot headed over this. Without throwing blame around we have been posting about Lipstick Jungle for almost two years now. Why haven't you made your coments sooner. And why did you pick the one post where we were trying to pay a tribute to Mr. McCarthy and do a good thing. All we were asking for is if you like the show to sign the petition. If you don't like it you have a remote control.
Clearly Mr. McCarthy likes being in the series otherwise he wouldn't be writing his journals every week with updates on the set.
On a lighter side what do you like Andrew or shoudl I say Mr. McCarthy in?
Oh and I was offended with the comment on how old are you people that post? Yes, I am old. Very old. Od enought to be Andrew's grandmother. :)
And...what's all of this "Anonymous" business? Surely you're sure enough of your remarks to attach a name to it, or at the very least a nom de plume?
As for Lipstick Jungle, I find it quite entertaining, personally. It's far from 'the worst thing Andrew McCarthy has ever done'...you obviously haven't seen 'Kansas' then
How old do you expect the man's fans to be? He is, after all, 46 years of age himself. It would stand to reason that those who've followed his career lo' these many years would dig him still.
Ok Ok i give in. I'm not out to upset amyone as i AM a HUGE Andrew fan and have been since Class so i won't comment any more on this topic. I am also no longer anon ok....
THIS IS MASSAGE FROM LJ TEAM. IT WAS ON LJ MASSAGE BOARD. PLEASE READ
Hello everyone!
I'm so so sorry that's it's been so long since I've been able to post. We've been on break for the holidays for the past couple of weeks, and so today was the first day back and I wanted to get on here ASAP to give everyone an update!!!
Sooo here's the deal.
Yes, it said that next week's episode is the season finale, but as you can tell by the wording, NBC didn't say SERIES Finale!!
Which means there is still a shot that Lipstick Jungle could be coming back sometime soon. But it all comes down to ratings.
We've been told by folks at the network, that in order to get more episodes, our ratings have to go up ONE MORE SHARE. What does that mean you ask? Well, this past friday's episode, we scored a 2.9/5 rating (which is up from our last airing on 12/12! Yay!). But in order for NBC to want to order more eps, we have to get a 6 instead of a 5 this week. IF we do that, there's a chance that you will see new episodes of Lipstick Jungle. If we can't get that number, the future is not looking pretty.
So I'm asking everyone who loves this show and wants to see more episodes in the future to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get as many people as you can to tune in LIVE this Friday night for our season finale! There are so many more stories that we want to tell, but we can't do it unless we knock it out of the park this Friday!!
Now matter what the out come is I hope you all got a chance to watch Lipstick Jungle. The season finale was terrific.
When I asked one of my buddies to watch the show for the increase in ratingsthis was his response to me.
Dear Mary;
I used to leave my TV on so I would get the ratings up on all of the doomed shows that have been cancelled over the years, but later on I found out this wasn't the case. Here is how the system works. A selected number of homes gets a Nielson box. You can't request one. It is chosen at random, and believe me I have wanted one my entire adult life! The ratings are based only on these boxes! However, letters to the network does help. I sent letters and signed by my fellow co-workers to save "Roswell." It worked!!! It was renewed for season three, which did turn out to be the last one. It was my favorite show on at that time, kind of like 'Heroes" is now.
