Hi Lee thanks for the info. Somehow I wonder if that might be a rumor because I have seen a different version of that article awhile back. But, for the Pretty in Pink fans let's hope it's true. Some time ago there was an article floating around about Adnrew doing Weekend at Bernie's 3 but, I am convinced that was also a rumor. Nothing ever became of it.
I´m afraid you´re right about the rumour. I´ve just received an e-mail from our cinema-magazine here in Germany. I wrote to them and asked if they know anything about a sequel to Pretty in Pink. Unfortunately, they don´t konw anything about it and they´re usually always right. Too bad, would´ve been nice to seen Andrew, Molly Ringwald and Jon Cryer in one movie again.
By the way, does anybody know if Andrew has any new projects at the moment ?
Mary, Thanks for your imput regarding this article, you are probably are right. Just wanted to say,I am a new fan of Andrew Mccarthy, having seen only his most recent films. My curiosity was stemmed by his role in Anything but Love. I looked up his name on the web site and came across the Andy Appreciation Web site. Wow, interesting career and interesting life. I hope he continues to learn and grow in his art of acting and film making. Lee
Hi Lee,Welcome to the message board. I must say you picked a great film to start appreciating Andy. I love Anything But Love. It really shows how he has matured and grown as a fine actor. I hope you will be finding more of his films to appreciate. Glad you found us.
For what it's worth, Mary -- Anything But Love was what inspired me on my "Andrew Kick." I had seen Straight From the Heart on Hallmark and really liked it but never dreamed it would be available on DVD. When I saw ABL on cale I videotaped it because it was reviewed as a semi-musical and I LOVED it so I put my order in for the DVD to be released in Dec. From August to December I ordered most of his movies available. I am a good bit older than the average fan but I had majored in Speech Arts and Drama eons ago so I do consider myself a pretty good critic and the young man DOES have exceptional talent. He is more than a "pretty face" and I really hope that film makers will realize this and afford him more opportunities to make good movies. I have Change of Heart on order -- that is A Father for Brittany -- and it is coming out on DVD in June. He did a great job in that, too, as did Teri Polo - his co-star in Straight From the Heart. Incidentally, I enjoy your web site.
According to hsx.com (Hollywood Stock Exchange), PiP2 is in the "Concept" phase - which means not in development, let alone pre-production, and anything can happens from here (including absolutely nothing). Here's their description:
The rumored storyline of the sequel follows the original characters as adults. Apparently, Steff (James Spader's character) is now involved in a high-finance business and during the course of the story must make a decision that will have severe implications for Andie (Molly Ringwald) and Blane (Andrew McCarthy). James Spader, Molly Ringwald, Andrew McCarthy, and John Cryer are rumored to be in talks about reprising their original roles.
