Sandy, I hope everyone is fine. Even though I experienced many earthquakes, it still makes me nervous especially since that March 11th Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami.
The quake was about 250 miles away. It's just so uncommon around here. No damage, just scary.
It was nothing compared to what your country endured. Yesterday's quake allowed me to appreciate better the fright you must have had in March...and that doesn't even come close to what you must have endured.
So true. Airports were closed for hours. The quake hit close to where I saw the NatGeo talk. My aunt, uncle and cousins had some damage. Nobody hurt, just shocked and scared.
Sandy is that the first time you have experienced that? Was it a strong shake. That was the first time I had heard so many states felt it. Glad it was nodthing to serious.
The more interesting weather news is that we're expected to get a Category 1 hurricane overnight. I lived through 2 before when we were in North Carolina. We won't get the brunt of it. New York, Philly and Long Island (and Cape May, where we vacation), will see some flood damage.
AM should be happy he's in Dublin right now. NYC's mayor closed the subways and ordered evacuations. Irene is quite the storm...and isn't that an Irish name?
